Restoration of Church of the Sacred Heart, Omagh

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

JPM were tasked to undertake stone renewal/repairs and investigation work to the 65m high North East Tower of the Grade A listed Church of the Sacred Heart, Omagh.

Phase 1 involved the erection of scaffolding to the 65m high tower to allow a detailed condition survey of the existing stone tower, stone spire, metal cross, internal metal supports to cross, internal supports to bells etc. We designed this scaffolding to be free standing from mid-height of spire upwards. No part of the existing roof finishes or roof structure of this listed building could be used as support for scaffolding. We also supplied, erected and maintained contractor-designed internal scaffolding to comply with all current legislation to allow for stone investigations.
