Liam ‘Tilly’ McElhinney was an extremely valued member of staff in JPM. He sadly passed away in January 2015 aged 48. Tilly was a hard working and popular Foreman who is sorely missed. He worked almost his entire life with JPM and was considered part of the family. He was a man of great strength of character and was respected by everyone he came in contact with. He had a phenomenal wealth of experience in the most complicated of situations on site and provided solutions to great challenges.
On Saturday 13th June, Tilly’s wife Sharon bravely organised a fundraising ‘Walk for Tilly’ in his memory. The aim was to raise awareness about oesophageal cancer and to raise funds for charity. Hundreds turned out for the ‘Walk for Tilly’ and Sharon raised thousands of pounds for charities including Macmillan Cancer, Charis, Oesophageal Cancer Fund and the Cancer Centre in Belfast.
He will forever be remembered fondly by the whole community.
